Homesteaders and Hired Men

Bill Tash, Beaverhead County

The Tash brothers came to Beaverhead County for the gold, but stayed and claimed homestead lands in order to take advantage of the more lucrative cattle business. Bill Tash, Jr. is still running the family business with his kids and grandkids and remembers how hired men were and still are essential to the business.

The DL Tash Grasshopper barn is an outstanding example of a barn built by Dillon builder, John Kent.
